Global Warming and Kerala

Global Warming and Kerala
Kerala, one of the most beautiful green hubs of the world is fast changing. The density of population and construction spree makes it a non-green land. Agricultural lands are fast changing to be land for construction of Institutions or buildings for other purposes. People are trying to cut trees wherever possible. That affects the climate of kerala also. It has already manifested in Kerala in the form of the unprecedented vagaries of weather. Kerala being projected as Gods own country is witnessing high temperature and intensive and unprecedented rainfalls keeping away keeping away from all its regularities.
Once kerala was a safe and favorite center for water born migratory birds , but now astonishingly, we see several dry habituated bird species coming to Kerala. Its a bad symbol from the Nature .The State should have to be ready to face severe drought in the coming years. Heavily dependent on hydel energy and day-by-day increasing power consumption, energy sector is also in crisis. Being a coastal state with the highest population density along the 570 km long coastline, Kerala is also vulnerable to the impacts of the projected sea level rise. It is high time to think and act against Global warming and climate change as an individual,as a social being and as a person of far reaching vision. We should be vigilant on planting more trees, protecting the one that we have and also not to disturb the present balance that the nature have. Avoid the greed and taste towards more facilities for material life. The land is for the future generation, not for you. Say always that I am green and would continue as green
